Short Term Projects

We take annual medical mission trips with doctors and nurses from North America to Nejo, Oromia, Ethiopia

We will train healthcare professionals from hospitals and clinics/Health centres in W. Oromia on Critical care, Emergency care, and standards of nursing practice.

Long Term Projects

We are currently in the process of a long-term project where we plan to build the first Diagnostic and Imaging Center in W. Oromia.

Past
Projects

2009- 1st trip to Nejo, with an American nurse from California – donated 1 box of medical supplies/equipment and medications, educated/trained Nurses at Nejo hospital on Infection prevention.

2010 –  Medical mission trip with an Adult Cardiologist that treated a lot of patients with Heart diseases. 3 boxes of Medical equipment/supplies donated. Trained Nurses on nursing standards of Care. 

2011- Travelled to Nejo with an Interventional Cardiologist and a nurse from California- screened and treated over 92 patients and identified about 16 children with congenital heart disease that will require open-heart surgery to save their life.

Shipped a 40ft container full of Donated medical equipment/supplies

2012- We travelled with  three children to India for Life saving open-heart surgery. 

2013- Cataract and Cleft Lip Campaign at Nejo hospital in collaboration with an organization called Here4them. 170 Cataract surgeries and 13 cleft lip surgeries performed at Nejo hospital. 

Trained nurses at local hospitals on Infection prevention guidelines. 

2015- Fistula and Uterine Prolapse surgery campaign, Cataract and cleft lip surgery campaign, screening children under 16 yrs old for congenital heart disease.  

2017- Trip to Internally Displaced people camp in  Hamaressa and Dire Dawa; Provided basic health care for over a thousand patients, donated medications, clothing and food items to the IDPS. This project was made possible in collaboration  with International Oromo Health Organization and Waliif Health Care.

2018- Trip to Mojo, Adama and Bishoftu to visit the Internally displaced people who settled there from near the Somali border.  Donated medications, clothing, household goods and food items to the IDP’s.

2021- Supported Rotary Club of Castro Valley, CA, in Establishing Oxygen Generator plant in Nejo, that is serving about 26 hospitals in W. Oromia.
